Leonard W. Harrington, Jr

For over 40 years Len had been an executive and counsel with three national title insurance underwriters and two title insurance agencies, including one that he owned and operated for 11 years in Northern Virginia, and a local law firm before joining Strategic National Title Group, in 2017.  His experience includes title insurance company management, preparing and conducting commercial and residential real estate settlements, title examination, underwriting, and claims involving properties in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

He serves as senior underwriter and settlement counsel for Strategic overseeing title review, supporting the settlement operation by being available for resolution of issues that may arise in the preparation for, and lead up to, settlements.  Additionally, he conducts commercial settlements, and when needed, residential settlements.

During the course of his career, he has participated in such projects as 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, the development and construction of the McLean Hilton, the MRIS headquarters in Maryland, 8120 Woodmont Avenue, and the site development loans for Brambleton in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Len is a rarity – a native Washingtonian – growing up in Northwest D. C., graduating from Gonzaga College High School in 1967, before receiving a B. A. degree from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA, in 1971 and a J. D. degree from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1975.  He is a licensed Virginia Title Agent and a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
